About the GCC eGovernment Award

The GCC eGovernment Award is presented to the government entities, within the GCC countries, which follow international best practices in utilizing ICT tools in order to provide services and information to the various categories of their stakeholders.

The award is announced alongside the GCC eGovernment Conference and Exhibition, that is held every two years. The first conference was held in Oman in December 2009, whereas the second was hosted by Kuwait in November 2011, United Arab Emirates in 2013 and the Kingdom of Bahrain will welcomingly accommodate the fourth during this year (2015).

·        Vision

A GCC prize with international standards, the award allows government agencies in the GCC region to share knowledge and achieve leadership in the level of eGovernment practices.

·        Mission

Provide a platform that enables competitiveness among government bodies in the eGovernment field in order to facilitate the spreading of knowledge, experience as well as increase customer satisfaction; beside enhancing knowledge economy and global competition for the GCC countries.

·        The award aims to:

-        Create a culture of constructive competition among the GCC countries in the field of eGovernment.

-        Highlight and benefit from the successful GCC experiences.  

-        Raise the level of eReadiness and eTransformation in the GCC countries; as well as improve their rankings in international reports within these areas.
